According to many rumors, Apple is considering discontinuing the iPhone X when the new model comes out this fall.
Usually, Apple continues to manufacture the previous generation when a new iPhone comes out, selling it at a lower price point.
However, Apple thinks it may hurt sales of the new iPhone if they continue selling the X.
