The classic Filipino dessert ube has made it's way to the states and it has taken over!
Ube ice cream just arrived at Trader Joe's and it's flying off the shelves.
If you aren't familiar with ube, it's a purple yam from the Philippines and is used as the base flavor in desserts.
According to Popsugar, Trader Joe's describes the ice cream as "sweet & nutty, with hints of coconut; some liken it to a cross between vanilla & pistachio."
Everyone that has tried it so far has loved it and has become instantly addicted to it!
It's $3 a pint so if you want to try it you'll have to hurry because it's selling out fast!
