A Small Town In California Is Paying Tourists To Visit!

Businesses across the country have been hit hard due to the coronavirus pandemic, but when Governor Gavin Newsom announced a second statewide lockdown in early December, businesses across the California had to prepare for more hardship. One small town decided to develop a plan to help the local businesses with a program called "Visit Santa Maria Valley." If you travel to Santa Maria Valley and stay there for a minimum of two nights at one of the many hotels in the area, you'll get paid $100. The money will come in the form of a voucher that can be used at any of the town's wineries, breweries or restaurants. If you're not familiar with the Santa Maria Valley, it's about 65 miles north of Santa Barbara and offers many of the same amenities, but at a cheaper price. The small town is following all CDC safety protocols and since it's less crowded than other California destinations, it's easier to enforce social distancing guidelines. This promotions is only until March 31st so if you've been wanting to get out of town, this might be the perfect place to go.
