California just issued 600,000 direct payments of the first batch of expanded Golden State Stimulus checks to eligible residents. Many were not included in this first round, but stimulus checks will be distributed every other week. Taxpayers who earned earned $75,000 or less last year may qualify to receive up to $600. If you're claiming at least one dependent, you could get an additional $500. Eligibility will be determined by the person’s 2020 tax return and the deadline to submit one is October 15, 2021. You can use the online tool to see if you qualify and see the estimate amount of what you could collect.
If you chose to receive your stimulus check by mail, the payment is anticipated to arrive between early October and the end of the year.
